Family Planning
Family is at the heart of the Muslim ummah. Islam encourages thoughtful, intentional decisions around marriage, children, and the responsibilities that come with building a family.
For adults 18 and older
Family is at the heart of the Muslim ummah. Islam encourages thoughtful, intentional decisions around marriage, children, and the responsibilities that come with building a family. This course, Family Planning, explores the holistic Islamic perspective on planning one’s family life, spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially, within the boundaries of Islamic ethics and values.
Over the course of 10 progressive levels, students will examine foundational topics like the purpose of family in Islam, the rulings around contraception and reproductive choices, preparing for marriage, raising children, and managing family life with ihsan (excellence). It also addresses modern realities such as infertility, adoption, mental and physical health concerns, and the balance between career and parenthood: all while centering tawakkul (trust in Allah), sincere intention, and mutual consultation (shura).
This course does not impose a one-size-fits-all view but empowers learners to make informed, faith-based decisions in various life circumstances. It encourages both personal reflection and practical planning, grounded in timeless Islamic principles.
Outline: the course plan comes from our founder's curriculum, and lessons are being written and reviewed. Module, unit, and lesson titles appear here once scholars have reviewed a level.
