Southern Islamic Institute is an online Islamic school for grades 1 to 8, with a part-time Islamic Studies Program for children in public school or homeschool. We are building it carefully, and we will always tell you exactly where things stand.

Full-Time Online School
A complete school day online for grades 1 to 8: core academics, Islamic studies, Qur'an and Arabic, and character, with live small-group classes and an advisor for every student.

How your child learns
Real teachers, small groups, and a day built around salah
Small live classes
Live classes meet in small groups of no more than 15 students. Every course has a named teacher of record.
An advisor for every child
Each student has a named advisor who checks in every week in the full-time program, with no more than 25 students each.
Qur'an as a real subject
Reading and memorization are tracked against your child's own goal, in the mushaf your family tells us it uses, with a revision plan for home: by page in the Madinah mushaf, and by hizb quarter in the Indo-Pak mushaf until our Indo-Pak page map is verified.
A prayer-aware day
Live classes are scheduled so they do not fall in the first 30 minutes of Dhuhr or Asr (by the standard Asr time, and by the later Hanafi time for families who keep it), across Maghrib, or at Jumu'ah, for any family in the class, by each family's own prayer location. If a family's settings or a class's roster change, our software checks the coming classes again and tells the teacher, the Principal, and the family, and we move the class.
Your child is taught and assessed by people. Some lesson text is drafted with AI help; every such lesson says so and names who approved it. No AI ever sees your child's work or information.
Promises in writing
What we will and will not do
A school asks a family for a great deal of trust. These promises are written into our policies, and most of them are built into our software, so they do not depend on anyone remembering them.
- No interest, ever, and no late fees.
- Nothing renews automatically. Each school year is a new enrollment you choose.
- By March 15, 2027, every founding family hears whether their child's grade will open. If it will not, you owe nothing.
- Your child is never marked wrong for following a recognized position of the four Sunni schools.
- We grade what a child knows and can do. We never grade a child's faith.
- SII staff never contact a child outside the SII platform.
- You can see who opened your child's record and why. Our safeguarding team's access, and a counselor's private counseling work, are never listed; while a concern about your child is open, other access is held back until our Safeguarding Lead releases it; and an opening of your child's Emergency card is held back until our safeguarding team decides it is safe to show. Our Privacy Policy explains.

SII is a new school in its founding year. It is operated by Ameen Systems, and its founder, Abd al-Rahim Ferrand, is building it step by step. You should be able to check every claim we make.

Safety
Children's safety comes before everything else
Every adult who can reach a child is cleared first, with fingerprints, registry checks, and references. No staff member is ever alone on video with a child: a child enters a live class only when the teacher is in and a classmate or a second cleared adult is too, and a child left alone with one adult is moved to a waiting screen. Staff sign in only through our own sign-in page, with a code from an authenticator app on every session, and a child can always ask our safeguarding team for help privately.
- Background checks and yearly training for every adult with access to children, administrators included.
- No private one-to-one video between a staff member and a child.
- No private messages between students, and no staff contact outside the platform.
- A "Talk to someone" button on every Learning Hub screen once a child has their own sign-in. Children in grades 1 and 2 learn beside a parent, with 988, Childhelp, and 911 on every screen.
