Your child learns reading, writing, math, science, and social studies alongside Islamic studies, Qur'an, and Arabic, with live teachers in small groups and an advisor who checks in every week. SII becomes your child's school.

What your child studies
Five parts of one school day
Core academics
Mathematics, English language arts, science, social studies, and technology, one course per grade. Daily live reading and math groups in the younger grades.
Islamic studies
Aqeedah, Fiqh, Seerah, and Islamic history, in levels that build year by year, with practical worship taught the way your family follows.
Qur'an
Qaida, reading from the mushaf with tajweed, and memorization of Juz 'Amma and onward at your child's pace, in small live groups.
Arabic
Modern Standard Arabic from a published series, in levels tied to national proficiency standards. Heritage speakers learn in their own groups from grade 3.
Character and ethics
Akhlaq and adab: honesty, patience, kindness, and good manners at home, online, and in the community, taught from the example of the Prophet ﷺ.
Electives
Art and design, American Sign Language, physical education, voice and nasheed without instruments, life skills, and public speaking, as teachers and interest allow.
Where the lessons come from
Core academics built on material we are allowed to use
A school that charges tuition may only teach from material licensed for that use. So our math, reading, science, and social studies come from openly licensed curricula that allow use by a tuition-charging school (for example, Illustrative Mathematics and OpenSciEd publish under the CC BY 4.0 license), or from a commercial curriculum licensed to SII. We check each license before we adopt anything.
Every course names its source, publisher, and license, and every lesson shows its attribution. No class opens to students until its lessons for the term are written, reviewed, and published.
How your child is graded
- Grades 1 to 5: standards-based marks (1 Beginning, 2 Developing, 3 Proficient, 4 Mastered).
- Grades 6 to 8: percentages and letter grades, with mastery shown for each skill.
- Qur'an: progress against your child's own goal, never a letter grade.
- Quizzes the computer checks are "not yet reviewed" until a teacher releases the score.
A day at home
Live classes, self-paced lessons, and time away from the screen
Each day mixes short live classes with teachers, lessons your child works through at their own pace, and offline work: reading, handwriting, and Qur'an practice from a printed mushaf. Offline work counts toward the school day when a parent confirms it.
Grades 1 and 2
Your child learns with you beside them, in a locked "Learn with" view in your Family Portal. Young children need an adult nearby for a good part of each day.
Grades 3 to 5
Your child gets their own Learning Hub account and grows more independent, with you checking in through the day.
Grades 6 to 8
Your child manages most of the day, with a plan for the week, pace for each course, and an advisor who notices early.
The live minutes, the self-paced minutes, the daily screen-time ceiling, and the time a parent or other learning coach should plan for are in the table for each grade band on A Week at SII. The live minutes are written into our Terms of Enrollment as a promise.
Tuition
What the Full-Time Online School costs
No interest and no late fees. Plans cost exactly the yearly tuition, split into parts. In our founding year, no full-year prepayment is taken.

- No interest. No late fees. Nothing renews automatically. Each school year is a new enrollment your family chooses.
- Founding-family promise: while your child stays enrolled, tuition for a founding family rises no more than 3% a year.
- In the founding year, families pay monthly or by term. From the second year, paying the whole year up front saves $150.
- Application fee: $0 in the founding year.
- We take no payment before March 15, 2027, the date every founding family hears whether their child's grade will open. If it will not, you owe nothing.
Before you decide
- SII is not yet accredited. If your child later moves to another school, that school decides how to place your child and which SII records it accepts. What this means.
- In a few states, the law asks more of an online school before it can be a child's school of record. Our state table shows where full-time enrollment is open and what families there must file.
- SII provides accommodations, not special-education services under an IEP. Learning support explains what that means.
- Each grade opens only with enough students to teach it well. You will hear by March 15, 2027, and you owe nothing if your child's grade does not open.
