Refunds and Withdrawal

Before the school year starts

• There is no application fee in our founding year.
• No money is taken until your child's grade is confirmed to open. If it does not open, you owe nothing.
• If you withdraw before your child's first day of school, you get a full refund of everything you have paid.

If SII cancels or changes the program

If SII cancels your child's program or grade, or changes it in a major way (for example, the live teaching we promised, or moving your child to a different program), you may withdraw and receive a full refund of everything you have paid for that school year.

If you withdraw during the year

• In the first 30 days of school: you pay only for the school weeks that have passed, counted by week, and we refund the rest.
• After the first 30 days: you pay through the end of the calendar month in which you give notice, and we refund anything you have paid beyond that.
• Whole-year plans (offered from our second year): the unused part is refunded in the same way. The small saving for paying up front applies only to the part of the year your child attended.
• Tuition assistance and discounts apply to the part of the year your child attended, in the same proportion.

In our founding year, we take no full-year prepayment, so no family pays far ahead of the teaching they receive.

If SII closes

If SII ever closes, every family receives a refund for the unused part of what they paid within 30 days, and each child's records are sent to the family or the next school within 10 school days. Our transcript records are kept for 60 years even if the school closes, and we will publish who holds them and how to request a transcript.

How to withdraw

1. Tell us in writing, from the Family Portal or by email to office@southernislamicinstitute.org. The date we receive your notice is your notice date.
2. Tell us the last day your child will attend, and the next school if you know it.
3. We confirm the withdrawal, the amount of any refund, and when your child's accounts close.

A school cannot simply lose track of a child. If a child stops attending without a withdrawal, we try to reach the family, and after five school days without contact our Safeguarding Lead makes a welfare check. If we still cannot reach the family, we write to explain what happens next before any withdrawal takes effect.

How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the card or bank account you paid from, within 30 days of the withdrawal date, unless we agree another way with you. No fee is taken from a refund.

Records, whatever is owed

We send a student's records to their next school within 10 school days of your request, whatever balance is owed. We never hold a child's records to collect a debt.

Examples

These examples use a monthly plan. Your own figures depend on your plan and discounts.

• You withdraw in the second week of school, having paid the first monthly payment. You pay for two school weeks and get the rest of that payment back.
• You give notice on November 10. You pay through November 30. If you already paid for December, that payment is refunded.
• SII tells you in October that your child's grade will lose its promised live classes. You may withdraw and get back everything you paid for the year.
