Help build a school children will remember

SII needs the people who will bring it to life: teachers who know each child, Qur'an teachers with a verified chain of recitation, scholars who guard what we teach, and the people who keep children safe. Every role is paid, and every open role is listed below with its pay. The roles that keep children safe (our Safeguarding Lead and deputy, the Qur'an lead, the content reviewer, and an independent safeguarding adviser) are listed as planned roles: each will be hired, and the person fully cleared, before any child enrolls.

Before you start

Clearance comes first

No one works with children at SII until they are cleared. That means a fingerprint-based criminal check, state checks for every state you have lived in over the past 5 years, the national sex-offender registry, child abuse registries where they exist, police certificates from other countries you have lived in, two references, a signed code of conduct, and safeguarding training every year.

We follow the federal steps for fair background checks: you are told in writing before any check is run, you give written permission, and if something in a report may affect our decision, you receive a copy and a chance to respond before we decide.

Paid roles only

Why we have no volunteer positions

SII is operated by Ameen Systems, a company, and a company may not accept unpaid work. So every role is paid, including our Scholarly Review Board. Our earlier website invited volunteers and a volunteer founding board; those invitations are retired.

Qur'an teachers: your ijazah appears on your profile only after we have verified it. Women scholars and teachers: we especially want to hear from you, because girls' groups are taught by women wherever our staffing allows.

    A conversation by video, and for teaching roles, a short sample lesson.

  3. Clearance and onboarding

    Background checks, references, training, and a signed code of conduct, all before any contact with children.

We never ask for sensitive documents by email. We do not discriminate in hiring on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, or disability. Some roles, such as religious instruction or teaching girls' groups, carry requirements that are stated in the role's description.
