Support for children who learn differently
Many children need something adjusted to show what they know: more time, a break, a question read aloud. We provide those accommodations, and our software applies them automatically, so your child never has to ask twice. We also tell you plainly what we cannot provide.
What we provide
Accommodations, at no charge
- Extended time on timed quizzes and tests.
- Extra attempts on practice.
- Extended due dates.
- Questions and lessons read aloud.
- Breaks during longer work.
Once a plan is approved, the software applies it for your child everywhere: a timed quiz simply gives your child more time, and due dates move on their own. Teachers see the adjustment they need to honor, never a diagnosis.
How it works
From request to plan
Tell us
The application asks one yes-or-no question: does your child have a learning plan (such as an IEP or a 504 plan) or a health need to discuss? The details come later, at enrollment.
Share what helps
At enrollment, you share the accommodations your child uses and any documents you choose to share. Documents are optional.
A person decides
A named member of staff reviews the request and decides within 10 school days. You see the plan in your Family Portal.
Review as your child grows
You or your child's advisor can ask to change the plan at any time.
What we do not provide
Special education, said plainly
SII does not provide special-education services under an IEP, and we cannot carry out an IEP as written. Your home public school district keeps its duty to evaluate your child, and it may offer services to children enrolled in private schools. We are glad to work alongside those services.
SII does not provide therapy or mental-health treatment. Our counselor is an academic and college counselor. If your child needs that kind of support, your child's advisor will help you find a licensed provider near you.
If a need is beyond what we can support well, we will say so before you enroll, not after.
Access
Hearing, vision, and other access needs
Captions
Your child's device can show live captions that run on the device itself and send nothing to us or anyone else. If that is not enough, tell us and we will arrange another way, such as a human captioner.
An accessible website
Our site and apps are built to the WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standard, with no puzzle tests at sign-in. Our accessibility statement lists what we have tested and the gaps we know about.
Qur'an and Arabic
Recitation and reading can be adjusted too, for example more time for a page or a larger text size. The Qur'an teacher and the family agree the goal together.
