Level 9: The Schools of Fiqh & Principles of Legal Reasoning

This course focuses on the schools of Fiqh and the principles of legal reasoning (Usul al-Fiqh). Students will explore the historical development of the four major Sunni schools of Fiqh (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali), their methodologies, and how Islamic rulings are derived. The course will also introduce the science of Usul al-Fiqh, covering how scholars apply principles to extract legal rulings from the Qur’an and Sunnah.
