Akhlaq (Character Development)

Level 3: Cultivating the Heart: Internal Character

Outline only

True character begins from within. Before it appears in speech or behavior, it forms in the heart through sincerity, self-awareness, and the struggle to overcome ego. In Islam, the heart (qalb) is the command center of the soul, and refining it is key to developing lasting, meaningful akhlaq. This level turns inward: focusing on the internal traits and spiritual mindset that form the root of every noble action.

Students will reflect on traits like humility, patience, sincerity, gratitude, and self-control, learning how to recognize their opposite diseases: pride, envy, greed, and heedlessness. Through introspection, habit-building, and spiritual guidance, learners will begin the lifelong journey of tazkiyah (purification) as the foundation for character that pleases Allah and benefits others.

Planned: 6 modules, 30 units, 90 lesson titles.

Outline: the course plan comes from our founder's curriculum, and lessons are being written and reviewed. Module, unit, and lesson titles appear here once scholars have reviewed a level.
