🌱 Akhlaq (Character Development)

Akhlaq—character—is at the core of a believer’s identity. It’s not just about how we treat others; it’s a reflection of what lives in our hearts. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “I was sent to perfect good character.” That alone speaks to the weight and importance of Akhlaq in Islam.

This subject is designed to help students build a heart-centered life, where virtues like honesty, humility, patience, gratitude, sincerity, and courage are not only learned, but lived. Students will explore the signs of noble character, how to handle destructive traits like arrogance, envy, or hypocrisy, and how to consistently strive for personal improvement through self-reflection and repentance.

It’s not just a moral checklist—it’s about transformation. This course will guide students through developing inner discipline (muraqabah), sincerity (ikhlas), and self-awareness so that character becomes a form of worship. The world doesn’t just need more knowledgeable Muslims—it needs more Muslims with beautiful character.

🤝 Adab (Etiquette)

Adab is the grace of Islam. It’s the way we speak, listen, walk, eat, sit, and interact—with others, with ourselves, and most importantly, with Allah. Adab is the outer expression of an inward respect for divine order and human dignity.

This subject trains students in the beauty and power of Islamic manners—not just as tradition or culture, but as acts of worship. Topics include: proper greetings and speech, behavior toward parents, teachers, elders, neighbors, and guests, as well as etiquette during prayer, eating, studying, and gatherings.

Adab shapes the environment we live in. It transforms relationships and builds a culture of dignity, kindness, and honor. Students will learn that excellence in manners is a Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, and that small gestures—when done with sincerity—carry immense reward.

❤️ Empathy

Empathy is the ability to feel what someone else feels—to understand, support, and uplift others through sincere emotional connection. In Islam, empathy is not optional. It is a Sunnah, a sign of a sound heart, and a building block of the prophetic character.

This subject will teach students how to develop emotional intelligence through the examples of the Prophet ﷺ, who comforted the grieving, lifted the downtrodden, and responded to harshness with gentleness. Students will explore topics like recognizing emotional needs in others, supporting friends and family through hardship, and avoiding judgment and cruelty.

We will also dive into how to develop empathy for those who are different from us, and how this strengthens unity and bridges divides. Through stories, roleplay, and reflection, this subject nurtures the emotional literacy needed to walk through life with compassion, dignity, and a heart that reflects prophetic mercy.

🏘️ Social Ethics

Being a good Muslim isn’t just about private worship—it’s about how we live in society. Social ethics in Islam teach us how to be upright, fair, compassionate, and trustworthy members of our communities. This subject explores the Islamic framework for interacting with others justly and with concern for the common good.

Topics include the rights of neighbors, civic responsibility, honesty in trade, standing against injustice, volunteering, and avoiding gossip and slander. Students will reflect on their roles in both Muslim and non-Muslim communities and learn how to uplift the people around them while upholding the truth.

Through the lens of Qur’anic values and Prophetic examples, this course encourages students to embody Islam not only in personal conduct but in their impact on the world around them. Social ethics is where faith meets justice, and where private piety becomes public benefit.

👥 Social Relationships

Islam recognizes that humans are social beings. But building healthy relationships—especially in a complicated modern world—requires guidance, boundaries, and wisdom. This subject equips students to form and maintain friendships, family bonds, and community ties that are rooted in trust, respect, and Islamic values.

Students will explore topics such as choosing righteous companions, maintaining good character even when others do not, handling peer pressure, and resolving conflicts with fairness. We’ll also address the etiquette of disagreement, digital communication (texting/social media), and how to avoid toxic relationships while being a positive influence.

This subject strengthens the ability to connect with others meaningfully, and helps students understand how relationships can be a path toward personal growth and nearness to Allah. A good friend, spouse, neighbor, or coworker can be a mercy from Allah—or a test. This course helps students be the kind of person who uplifts every relationship they enter.
